This fall, members of the Vázquez-Medina Lab of UC Berkeley joined the Merritt Genomics program to share their education and career journeys. Dual enrollment and college students currently enrolled in Bioscience 30, Genomics Theory, got to hear stories of how the Principal Investigator, José Vázquez-Medina, and grad students and post docs in his lab, some of whom are first generation and community college grads, navigated their pathways to research at UC Berkeley.
