As stated in the AC Transit Easy Pass Referendum language: A majority (51% or more) of students
voting in this election must vote “YES” for the proposition to pass.
In the spring 2020 election held May 11th and 12th, a total of 1,157 students voted in the election.
In order for the AC Transit Easy Pass proposition to pass, 590 “YES” votes were required to achieve
51% approval. A total of 535 (46%) “YES” votes were cast; a total of 431 (37%) “NO” votes were
cast. Based on these results, a majority ( 51%) of students that voted in the election did not approve
the proposition.
