Job Description
Female caregiver for 30 yo female, wheelchair user, Berkeley, University Ave. I am active in adaptive sports including biking, rock climbing, yoga, and power wheelchair soccer. Need assistance with various tasks, meal prep, dressing, transferring, and driving my adapted van. I want someone who can follow my lead well and is good at following through. Prefer someone who enjoys being active, is friendly, a good communicator, on time, likes to cook, will help keep the place clean, and be part of a great team of helpers. You must be physically able to help with pivot transfers (130 lbs).
This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in kinesiology, nursing, OT, PT, or speech therapy.
You would work for a Supported Living agency, and need to be authorized to work any job in the US. Some of your hours would be through IHSS. Health insurance may be available. Part time and full time positions may be available.
You must have a valid driver’s license, car insurance and a car.
It would be preferred if you live near by.
We are hiring for various shifts per week
1-Overnights
Sunday 9 PM to Monday at 9AM
Tuesday 10PM to Wednesday 9AM
Thursday 10PM to Friday 9AM
Saturday 10pm- Sun 12 noon
2-Eves -Monday 5-9pm,Tues 5-10pm, Weds 5-9pm, Thursday 5-10 PM
3- some Friday Days, and additional shifts to cover other staff vacation, time off etc.
There is some down time at some shifts. Pay for full rate hours is $14 -14.50/hr (experience based), overnight @$13.75, some IHSS hrs.@ 12.50
(Berkeley wages increase later this year to $15). Experience helpful, strong references needed. We are looking for honesty, intelligence, attention to detail, reliability, sense of humor, and willingness to learn . Students welcome.
You must be able to pass the fingerprint clearance .
Can supply a great reference to a great attendant who makes a commitment to the job. Prefer long-term commitment to the job.
