THE POSITION
Bargaining Unit: Local 856 – General Services & Maintenance Unit
Contra Costa County is recruiting experienced IT professionals interested in career opportunities as an Information Systems Technician at Contra Costa County. Information Systems Technicians may be assigned in any of the County Departments.
As an Information Systems Technician I, you will be responsible for providing trouble shooting and technical support related to hardware, software, peripheral printers, and related equipment problems. You will work in a team environment and assist the business users and IT staff in the evaluation, selection, acquisition, and implementation of computer hardware and/or software solutions. You will assist with major equipment repairs; system upgrades and performing systems administration duties.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating the following:
Providing technical support and customer service to wireless devices, computer systems and communications equipment users
Implementing computer hardware and software solutions
Installing, troubleshooting, testing and configuring hardware network components and related software to assure functional operation
Training and education systems users and developing technical documentation
Characteristics of the ideal candidate:
