English professor and Puente Co-Coordinator
Isela completed her undergraduate work in English at UC Berkeley in 1992 and her graduate work in Education with an emphasis on Language and Literacy at Harvard University in 1995.
Isela teaches all levels of English at Merritt. She is also the faculty advisor for the Puente Club and is currently serving as a senator on Merritt College Faculty Senate.
In 2011, Isela was awarded the President’s Excellence Award for her dedication to the Puente Project.
