Merritt Student Groups Join Together for 18th Annual Turkey Giveaway

Students from Associated Students of Merritt College, along with Puente, Phi Theta Kappa, Criminal Justice, and Merritt’s Safety Aides, joined Student Activities Director Dr. Lilia Chavez on Sat., November 22,  at the 18th Annual Turkey Drive held in Oakland. The group brought cheer to an otherwise rainy day by distributing turkeys to community members who may otherwise not have had one for their Thanksgiving. In existence since 1997, the  Turkey Drive has given away more than 20,000 turkeys. Thanks to Merritt College students for being a part of the effort!
