Women’s Soccer Team to Host Clothing and Book Swap at Laney EcoFest
Head Women’s Soccer Coach Lilia Dosalmas and her team would like to introduce themselves to the Peralta community by hosting a worthy, environmentally correct event: a Clothing and Book Swap at Laney’s EcoFest Sustainability Festival on April 23rd. Festival goers can come and select used but no longer needed items and either exchange them for their own items or purchase them for a small fee which will help the team raise funds for their inaugural program (the first women’s soccer team ever at Peralta)! Any items left at the conclusion of the event will be donated to the 24-Hour Oakland Parent Teacher Children’s Center and the East Oakland Community Center. In addition to the swap, Coach Dosalmas and her team will also be hosting mini soccer clinics and teaching participants signature attacking moves like the “Messi” the “Ronaldo” the “Cryuff” and the “Mia Hamm,” to name a few. They will be collecting items in the next couple of weeks for the swap. If you have any gently used/clean clothing and/or books that you would like to donate to the booth, please contact her at ldosalmas@peralta.edu and she will arrange a time to come collect the items from you. Thanks in advance for your support of the women’s soccer program!
