Join the Tobacco-less Club in the Great American Smokeout on Nov. 17
Every year on the third Thursday of November, smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout event to encourage smokers to make a plan to quit. By quitting, smokers will be taking an important step toward a healthier life and reducing their cancer risk.
This year, the Tobacco-less Club at Merritt is sponsoring its Smokeout on Thursday, Nov. 17, from 12:30-1:30 on the D-Quad Free “quit” supplies will be given out on that day as well as on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Club Rush in the Student Lounge, R-110, from 12 Noon to 2:30 p.m. No-sign ups are necessary.
Here’s an inspirational message from the Tobacco-less Club:
Do you want to quit smoking but need some support?
Are you concerned about those you love breathing second hand smoke?
Smoke from the tip of the Cigarette is 20 times more toxic than what the smoker inhales.
If you have a friend to help you and provide coaching you can sign up together.
Quit supplies include gum, lollipops, e-cigarette and hookah fact cards, posters and other fun items while supplies last.
The most successful stop smoking programs work when there is someone in your corner supporting you.
We care about your life and the lives of your loved ones. We have all faced some kinds of addiction.
Don’t let the tobacco companies rob you of your life.
