The program is being taught by faculty from the college’s Administration of Justice and Biosciences programs, the California Highway Patrol (MAIT), the Oakland Fire Department, and local law enforcement agencies. You will gain a broad in-depth introduction to the field of criminal investigation by experiencing the many steps of crime scene investigation from the first responders, the documentation of the crime scene, the photographing and measurement, and through testifying in court.  This program will also introduce the students to death investigation and the many steps that are necessary in determining whether a death is accidental or homicide.  At the conclusion of this course, the student will be able to identify many of the processes that a law enforcement officer must complete in order to successfully investigate crimes, and the methodologies behind them.
