Plans for an exciting and informative mid-semester Flex Day on Thursday, October 26, have been finalized by the Professional Development Committee, chaired by Tom Renbarger, and the schedule is attached. Continental breakfast begins at 8:15 AM and precedes the morning plenary session in R-110, which will begin at 9 AM. The morning session will include the President’s address, an update on some vital union issues affecting both faculty and classified staff, a report on lessons learned from the recent campus evacuation and upcoming Great Shake Out drill, an update from SLOAC, and a few activities interspersed throughout the session.
Hot lunch begins at noon, and we’re having enchiladas and a nacho bar. Afternoon workshops include an ILO workshop, Canvas training, Curriculum/CurricUNET Meta training, an Online Educational Resources workshop, a non-credit course development information session, and a session on an Early Alert system for faculty. Additionally, there is a track that will have a nutrition workshop, Business Office training, and a continuation of a classified staff event from last year on emotional intelligence.
