An Open Classroom,” presented by Peralta faculty member and BHM coordinator Danae Martinez. The presentation will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Part I) and 11 a.m.-noon (Part II) in Room A206. Danae describes her presentation, as follows: Do women belong on the front line of revolutionary struggle and liberation movements? What is the role of music and culture in revolutionary movements? Can they be weapons and not just rallying cries? How are the accomplishments of women hidden or discounted in order to thwart movements of today? Come learn about the antiapartheid struggle and how women were on the front lines of revolutionary struggle and how music was used as an actual weapon against the enemy!
