ASMC Senators Go to Los Angeles Conference as Part of “The Power of 2.1”

A group of ASMC senators had the opportunity to enhance their skills as student leaders and advisors, engage in important and productive discussion and debate, and network with student leaders from across the state at “The Power of 2.1” Conference. The event, held May 1-3, was the Spring 2015 General Assembly of Region IX for the Student Senate for California Community Colleges. The conference’s title represents the 2.1 million students of the California Community College System in state-level shared governance and legislative advocacy. Student governments from nearly 60 community colleges were represented at the conference. Thanks to all the senators who represented Merritt College! (And to Daraja Wagner from Student Activities for chaperoning!)
