The Sociology curriculum helps students understand the workings of societies, their institutions, organizations and groups by exposing them to the history, knowledge, theory and methods of the discipline. By introducing students to the concepts, theoretical frameworks, and methodological techniques of sociology, they are aided in developing a “sociological imagination,” leading to a deeper understanding of the relationships between personal experience and the larger social world.
