The Human Services program serves those who wish to train for a career in the Human Services field, those who are currently employed in the field, and those who seek training for career advancement. The program introduces the student to lifespan human care  issues to include theory and practice for services from  infant to elder care populations identified in need of  specific, trained interventions. The historical, legal, and ethical issues of human services are covered, as well as characteristics of special conditions and disabilities that affect infants, children, adults and elders and the agencies and institutions that provide services to these groups.  The program covers current practices in the human services field and trains the student in a wide range of competencies required to work in the field to include an introduction to counseling and intervention skills and case management, and how to serve a multi-ethnic, culturally diverse client population.
