The Contra Costa County Department of Conservation and Development has an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in an entry-level Building Plan Checker position, located in Martinez, California.
The Building Plan Checker I, under close supervision, is responsible for performing a variety of duties which include processing permit and plan check applications, updating and using the automated permit processing system to issue permits, and performing other related duties as required. As part of the work series, Building Plan Checker I is a flexibly staffed classification and may advance after satisfactory performance to Building Plan Checker II ($4,787- $5,818).

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for twelve (12) months.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a high school diploma, G.E.D. equivalency, or high school proficiency certificate.
Experience: One (1) year of full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) experience in the processing and issuance of building permits or experience in construction which provided knowledge of building plans and the Uniform Building Code.
Substitution for Experience: 9 semester or 12 quarter units from an accredited college in construction technology or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.
