For just a handful of days this week and next, Merritt College is offering a beautiful exhibit of 73 photographs, capturing the diversity of people who marched to stand for women’s rights all over the world on January 21, 2017. The photographs were taken by both professionals and amateur phoographers in New York, Philadelphia, Austin, Texas, DeMoines, Iowa, San Francisco, Oakland, and beyond, including London, England.
The exhibit will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in “S” Building, Room 352 (first door on the left when you enter from the parking lot) on:
11 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Mondays and Wednesdays, March 15, March 20, March 22
Saturday, March 25, Closing Ceremony
A big thank you to Communication faculty member Hilary Altman for acquiring the exhibit! If you have questions or want to schedule a private showing for your group or class, please do not hesitate to email her at Hilaryaltmanphd@gmail.com
INSTRUCTORS: Please tell your students about this opportunity. Feel free to offer an extra credit exercise, so that students can write about their favorite photograph, how they were touched by or felt reflected by people they saw in the photos, or perhaps questions they have about the women’s movement and how the marches play a role in continuing the women’s rights movement.
