Raised in Silicon Valley, Marie is incredibly passionate about improving educational access and opportunities for our most underserved and underrepresented students through the development or sustainability of programs, partnerships, and new policies that foster student equity.

Marie received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and draws from a wide range of experiences in both the private and public sectors. Through her many years of work with partner agencies and participation in shared governance, she has managed to strengthen collective impact efforts and serve as a bridge for increased collaboration and partnership between college faculty and business and industry.

Prior to coming to the Peralta Community College District, she was at Chabot College managing the development and strategic implementation of the Hayward Promise Neighborhood grant for

several years before stepping into a CTE Manager role, where she provided oversight and leadership for multiple CTE grants, including Strong Workforce. Marie’s past work experience includes serving as the WorkAbility IV Program Director for CSU East Bay as well as Case Manager for the NUMMI Reemployment Center and San Jose One-Stop.

She comes to Merritt College from the Peralta District Office, where she served as the Director of Strong Workforce and Career Education Programs for Peralta since 2017, providing leadership and guidance in the planning, implementation, and success of the Strong Workforce Program at the four Peralta Colleges. She works collaboratively with both faculty and industry partners to promote the development of innovative new Career Education programs that respond to the evolving needs of the workforce and further increase opportunities for student success.

She currently resides in Hayward with her husband, Jeff, her three beautiful children, Mia (11), Jacob (4), and Jaxton (3), and her Pug puppy, YoCo.
