Welcome Message – Jason Holloway 

Hello, I am originally from Toledo OH, but I have been a Bay Area resident since 2000. Teaching in the Peralta colleges as a Professor in Mathematics for over 15 years, I have always had a passion for the greater Oakland community and helping our students achieve their goals. I became Dean of Math, Science and Applied Technology at Merritt College in 2017 and I aim to help create relevant, enriching opportunities for our students that lead to them to meaningful careers in their field of study. Living, working, and learning in the Bay Area can be challenging, but the Division of Math, Science and Applied Technology offers a wide variety of educational pathways that can lead to employment, wage increases, or transfer into a 4 year institution in the UC or CSU system. Through our Guided Pathways educational model, Merritt College will do our best to provide you with a road map and assist you along the way of reaching your educational goal in the most efficient way possible. Please reach out to the Division Office if you need any assistance and we will get you the help you need!
