“Women in Law Enforcement Conference” Scheduled for Friday, March 24, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Merritt College, in partnership with Oakland PAL (Police Athletic League) will  host a free conference titled “Women in Law Enforcement: Maximizing our Opportunity by Realizing our Potential” on Friday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Student Lounge, R-110.

 

The conference is designed to attract both high schools students interested in the law enforcement field as well as those already working in the field.

 

For the high school track, workshops include:

• How My Decisions Today Affect My Future – Special emphasis on Social Media/Cyberbullying and Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention
• Law Enforcement Career Options
• Crime Scene Mock Investigation

 

For the professional track, there are workshops on:

  • Pros and Cons of Upward Mobility
  • Health and Wellness – Balancing Career and Personal Life
  • Networking 101 – How to Make Contacts Count
