Roadtrip Nation Launches “Roadmap to Careers” at Merritt

What do you get when you cross reality television with career guidance counseling?  Why, Roadtrip Nation of course!  The big, green RV and the Roadtrip Nation team of John, Carla, Alli and Joel visited us at Merritt College on October 17, 2019, a beautiful sunny autumn day.  The team spent the day meeting students and introducing them to the new “Roadmap to Careers” program that is free to all Merritt College students.  Simply login to https://roadtripnation.com/edu/merritt to get started. You’ll need to create an account and use the special Merritt College code in order to access all the cool features. Visit here for more info about creating your account. (If you need the code, please visit Merritt College Student Services in Building R-113 or email Mark Johnson for it). Once you’re in, simply answer a few questions to find potential careers that match your interests.

Steve Pantell and Maria Spencer welcome the Roadtrip Nation Team (John, Alli, Joel, and Carla) to Merritt College

Merritt College Counselor and Articulation Officer Dr. Steve Pantell has been a fan of Roadtrip Nation for years and uses their resources frequently when discussing potential career paths with students.  Steve’s enthusiasm for Roadtrip Nation resources knows no bounds. In fact, Steve helped introduce Roadtrip Nation tools to the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. That introduction in turn led to talks, which led to negotiations, which led to a CCC-system wide licensing agreement with Roadtrip Nation. That agreement gives all California community college students FREE access to the Roadtrip Nation “Roadtrip to Careers” site!

You may have seen the big green RV of Roadtrip Nation on their PBS television series which started in 2004 and is still going strong. Roadtrip Nation combines reality television with career planning under the basic premise of “find what you love.”  We hope you will take advantage of the FREE “Roadmap to Careers” online tools to help you find what you love.
