Board of Trustee member Linda Handy (pictured right) showed her support for Merritt by stopping by the college’s booth at the Laurel Street Fair on August 8. The fair was one of a number of such events that the new outreach team headed by Romeo Garcia, Interim Dean of Grants and Special Programs, and including Maria Spencer, has been participating in.

Volunteers from the college joined the team for some of the events, including the Bay Area Black Expo, Art and Soul Festival, and Gathering of the Lodges, and will be presenting at Leadership High School and AC Transit, among other events in the near future. All are welcome to give Romeo and Maria promotional materials to distribute, and volunteers are encouraged to work at the fairs and show their Merritt spirit!
