Administration of Justice Holds Third Annual Law Day

IMG_3288The 3rd Annual Law Day took place on Friday, April 24, as a room full of Administration of Justice students came to find out more about the professions their studies can lead to. The students listened to speakers who described their work and were eager to answer questions.

“It’s a day of learning,” says AJ Department Chair Margaret Dixon who planned the event. “The students come to explore the roles and responsibilities of different careers and to ask questions.”

The speakers included Captain Drennon Lindsey, Oakland Police Department; Mykeisha Lewis, Probation Officer; Aundrea Brown, Assistant Public Defender; Terry Wiley, Assistant District Attorney; Robert Chenault, Chief of Inspectors, Alameda County; Otis Bruce Jr., Esq., District Attorney, Marin County; Assistant Chief Paul Figueroa, Oakland Police Department; and Lorrain Taylor, founder of 1000 Mothers, Community Activist. The event also included a networking lunch and a student Q&A and panel discussion.
