Job Description
We are a small boutique firm specializing in State and Local Taxes (“SALT”) for large businesses. We have a small office located in San Ramon, California, but usually work outside the office (from home or from our client offices) and are virtually paperless. You will be working directly with Certified Public Accountants and preparing tax filings for sales tax and property tax purposes. We also have various other client projects, so expect to learn a lot quickly, especially if you are not already familiar with SALT work.
We serve primarily Internet and High-Technology clients headquartered in the Bay Area.
Hours: 25-40 work hours per week, depending on client needs. You may set your own work hours, once you are able to work independently. However, you should have availability 9 am to 5 pm, Monday – Friday for meetings or calls.
Pay and benefits: Comparable to other tax firms, including 401(k) matching, medical, dental, vision, and paid time off.
You are:
• Dependable, trust worthy and self-motivated.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Comfortable asking questions, so that work is done efficiently.
• Able to prioritize work based on due dates or client needs.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, have a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
• A strong communicator with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially within a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment.
• Excellent at working independently, thinking critically and proffering quality ideas to improving the organization’s processes.
