SANKOFA Students Treated to First Annual Thanksgiving Lunch

SANKOFA students were joined by Chancellor Jowel Laguerre, District Associate Vice President Siri Brown, Merritt President Marie-Elaine Burns and other administrators, faculty, and staff at the first annual SANKOFA Thanksgiving with a delicious turkey lunch with all the trimmings and words of inspiration as the students complete the Fall semester.

“Thank you for choosing Merritt College, we know you could have chosen other colleges,” said Debra Jacks, a SANKOFA coordinator who helped plan the event. “We wanted to treat you to this Thanksgiving lunch to show our appreciation and congratulate you on your success this semester. Be sure to study hard for your finals and don’t forget to use Merritt’s wonderful resources like the Learning Center tutors.”
