Enroll in New Natural History & Sustainability Program Courses

1 July 2018

(Click left flyer to enlarge) Merritt’s new student-centered Natural History & Sustainability (NHS) Program emphasizes the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to tackle the major environmental challenges of the 21st century. The interdepartmental program offers career- and transfer-driven coursework in three tracks: (1) Natural History; (2) Applied Ecology; and (3) Urban Agroecology. It is ideal for students interested in the basic science of the natural world and its effect on human society. Certificate programs are currently being developed for each track.

For this first Fall semester of the new program, nine courses have been carefully selected to educate students about the biodiversity and ecology of the Bay Area and beyond. No prerequisites are required except for a love of nature, a desire to keep our community environmentally healthy, and a curiosity to learn something new!For more information, go to www.merritt.edu/wp/nhs or contact NHS Program Director Brad Balukjian @bbalukjian@peralta.edu.
