Jason Seals grew up in a single-parent home in Oakand when it was, as he says, “the murder capital of the world.” His friends were all getting in trouble, and he could have easily gone in the same direction. But because of the influence of his mother (who urged him to go to college) and his mentors (who helped him along the way), he is today in a position to teach and inspire his own students and direct them along the same pathway to success.
