Black Panthers Archive
Overview
The Black Panthers Archive consists of the following files and materials, primarily from the 1960s through the 1970s. When relevant, updated materials have been added.
The archive contains mostly original materials donated by instructors, other individuals, or collected by library staff. It is not meant to provide a complete overview of the Black Panther experience, but rather a more focused view of Black Panther local history and origins at Merritt College. Library resources, such as books, periodicals, and online websites, should be consulted for comprehensive background information on the Black Panthers.
The library archives also include chronological files that contain newsworthy events at Merritt College, and beyond—providing a political, historical, and sociological context for the Black Panther era.
