Professor Isela Gonzalez Santana is an English Instructor and Co-Coordinator of the Puente Project, an academically rigorous learning community that assists and supports students through the transfer process.

Isela earned her BA in English from UC Berkeley and a Masters degree in Education with an emphasis on Language and Literacy from Harvard University. She teaches all levels of English: 252, 201, 1A, 5, and 1B.

She is the faculty advisor for the Puente Club, a student organization that raises social, cultural/racial, political consciousness at Merritt. She currently serves as senator on the Academic Faculty Senate.
